Hey GBR Rowers, Families, Alumni and Friends,
It’s been an exciting year at Great Bay Rowing! The club continues to grow at all levels – from middle school to masters and recreational to competitive teams.
- Won the Granite State Sculling Championships. (Threepeat! ’23, ’24, ’25)
- Sent 13 athletes in four boats to Youth Nationals, winning a silver medal in the women’s U17 double.
- Grew Masters team from 27 to 39 participants and raced well in the women’s and men’s masters eights at the Head of the Charles.
- Grew our school outreach program to 8 schools, extending our recruiting reach
GBR’s achievements are even more impressive considering we continue to operate in two locations while we work to find a permanent home. In some ways this craziness has made us stronger as a team, though all the moving back and forth takes a toll. Our equipment sees more wear and tear than usual and requires continuous maintenance and repair in addition to regular upgrades. At the same time, as the program grows, we are necessarily expanding our fleet and adding launches, oars, other equipment and coaching staff to meet the need.
GBR is preparing to launch a capital campaign to meet our long-term goals, but in the short term we’re asking for your help at this year’s end so that when we head back out on the water in April all our equipment is repaired, we are fully staffed and ready to “lock in” in 2026.
