Middle School Spring Rowing
Spring 2024 Registration will open on February 5th. Find it HERE, and search under Learn to Row or Teams & Groups depending on program.
Our spring programs will provide a safe, fun way to get out on the water, do something physical, and learn a new skill! We divide Middle School rowing into two different programs – Learn to Row for brand new athletes, and Intermediate for athletes with prior experience.
Athletes in 8th grade who are looking for a more intensive training experience should check out the High School Novice Team – no experience necessary.
Middle School Learn to Row
May 14th to June 13th
Tuesday & Thursday
4:00pm to 5:30pm
Open to athletes grades 6-8 with no experience or very little experience. Our coaches create a fun, low pressure environment to learn a new sport, develop fitness, engage socially with athletes from other schools, and get outside to enjoy nature. Athletes will train on the water in sculling boats, ranging from single person shells to two and four person team boats.
Please note, athletes must be able to swim in order to participate in any of our rowing programs.
Middle School Intermediate Rowing
May 13th to June 14th
Monday, Wednesday, Friday
4:00pm to 5:30pm
Open to athletes grades 6-8 who have prior experience with rowing. We ask that athletes have at least completed a GBR middle school learn to row program or equivalent. If you are unsure if your prior experience meets our standards, please contact the rowing director to discuss.
Intermediate athletes will further develop their skills and athleticism, working in both individual and team boats.
