U23 Summer Training Group

U23 Summer Training Group

This program is for any athlete who falls within the U23 racing category: someone who does not turn 23 in the 2026 calendar year. Enrollment in college is not required, and recent high school graduates who have aged out of U19 are welcome to participate.

This coached program will train three mornings a week, in conjunction with our Masters Competitive Team. We will train in a variety of different boats, depending on the numbers of the training group. Familiarity with sculling is a plus, but not required – we will teach you. Athletes who pass a Captain’s Test will also have logbook equipment access for independent training. We will race at local regattas โ€“ racing fees will be assessed separately from program tuition.

Athletes who are interested in racing at Canadian Henley should communicate this to the coaches as soon as possible and must make a firm commitment to travel no later than July 1st. Anyone planning to race at Canadian Henley must demonstrate their committment to training outside of coached practices, both on the erg and using their logbook access. The coaching staff will provide an additional suggested training plan for these athletes.

Coxswains are welcome and encouraged to participate in this program.
