Masters Winter Training

Masters Holiday Challenge – November 18th to December 19th
5:45pm to 6:45pm

This program bridges the gap between the fall and winter seasons, and provides a fun, social way to establish a habit of consistent training heading into 2025. Practices run for 1 hour, 4 nights a week. Come to as many or as few sessions as you want.

Registration is open now on Regatta Central, under Teams and Groups.

Do you enjoy training with teammates instead of on your own? Do you want to gain fitness, strength, and skill to bring back to the water this spring or summer? Are you looking for something fun to do through the long New England winter? Then come join the GBR Masters Winter Training program! We will use a variety of conditioning methods, including erging, functional strength circuits, mobility and yoga.

Masters Winter Training 2025
January 6th to March 28th
Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Masters will have two options for winter training practice times.
AM 1 – 6am to 7:15am
AM 2 – 7:30am to 8:45am

The AM 1 group is best suited for experienced athletes who are comfortable training independently. There will be a training program designed by a coach provided to the AM 1 group, but a coach will generally not be on hand during the workout session itself.

The AM 2 group is best suited for less experienced athletes, as a coach will almost always be on hand to guide everyone through the workout and help with equipment set up. This group is also great for anyone who has the flexibility in their schedule to sleep in a little bit!

New this year, there will be a small fee for our Masters Winter Training programs, to help us cover the cost of rent at the indoor space. Athletes with an Masters Annual Membership will pay $100 for the January through March session, and non-members will pay $300.

All practices will be held in our Indoor Training Space in the Cocheco Mill Building in Downtown Dover.

Looking for a more independent training option? Become a Masters Annual Member, and gain access to our indoor training facility for use anytime practices are not in session.
